This event will witness the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for an Education Global Development Alliance between the Government of the United States of America, represented by the Mission of the United States Agency for International 

Development to Tanzania (USAID), the Government of Zanzibar, represented by the Ministry of Education and Vocational Training Zanzibar (MOEVT), Cisco Systems International, Intel Corporation South Africa, Microsoft East Africa Limited and Zanzibar Telecom Ltd. (Zantel) for the purpose of establishing an Information and Communications Technology and 

Education Management Information System to improve the quality of education services. Through this MOU, the parties will come together to share their respective expertise and resources to build capacity in the management of Zanzibar’s education system.  The program aims to support education officials, administrators and teachers in planning and 

administrating education services more effectively, in order to improve the decision making process, quality of education, and services available to students.
