Rihanna Takes A Spill, Keeps On Singing
Rihanna took a tumble while performing in France Wednesday night, but she didn't let her near-face-plant stop the music.
The Barbados-born R&B singer was shimmying across the stage Wednesday night, singing her 2005 song "Let Me," when her feet began sliding out from under her. Just barely catching herself in time, Rihanna managed to land on her knees and was soon back on her feet. Ever the pro, RiRi didn't even miss a note.
It's been a tough week for the 22-year-old superstar: Late Monday night, Rihanna was rushed to a hospital for an injured rib after a show in Switzerland. Her stay in the hospital wasn't long, though: Rihanna was released less than three hours after entering the clinic and her publicist assured the world that the "Umbrella" singer was fine.
Her Monday night show in Zurich was unusual for musical reasons as well: That evening, Rihanna diverged from her pop-R&B songbook to deliver a short take on Oasis' best-known hit, "Wonderwall." She and two acoustic guitar players took the noise level down a notch and invited the eager audience to sing along with her for a few bars of the chart-topping Brit-pop ballad.
Her publicist hasn't commented on whether her spill in France and her Swiss-hospital scare are related, but fans surely hope there's nothing wrong with Rihanna-especially since her extensive Last Girl on Earth tour doesn't wrap up until late August.
